About Me

Hi, I’m Lauren — a Frontend Web Engineer with over two decades of both agency and in-house enterprise experience building websites that don’t just function, they delight and impress. My career has taken me from the early days of table-based layouts (yes, really) to modern, component-driven architectures in React, Next.js, and WordPress/Gutenberg. Along the way, I’ve shipped everything from lightning-fast marketing sites to fully custom block-based editing experiences, always with a focus on accessibility, performance, and maintainable code.

I have a reputation for being the “get it done” person on any team - the one who can troubleshoot a tricky JavaScript bug, refactor a CSS mess into something elegant, and still make it to the design review with thoughtful feedback. My skill set spans HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript (ES6+), React, Next.js, PHP, WordPress, custom Gutenberg blocks, and performance optimization. If it’s on the front end, I’ve probably built it, fixed it, or made it faster.

Recently, I was part of a company-wide layoff, which means I’m now open and ready for my next adventure - ideally remote, with a collaborative team that values clean code, great UX, and maybe the occasional bad joke.

Outside of work, I’m a music obsessive with a playlist that’s getting slightly out of hand, a photographer who’s happiest chasing the golden hour, a hiker always in search of the next scenic trail, and a devoted dog person (my dogs would like me to clarify that they want more treats and I am clearly not devoted enough, lol).

Whether I’m building a reusable component library, curating a playlist for a road trip, or plotting a photo hike, I bring the same energy: curiosity, creativity, and a drive to make things the best they can be. I’m ready to bring that to my next role - and have some fun along the way.
